The Anglo American and Bell Bingo Buddies Charity Motorcycle Run
Thetford Branch Celebrations
Thetford enjoyed a very special birthday on the 20th July, we were 25 years old!! We celebrated in style with friends, colleagues and business partners. The event was well attended and it was great to see so many people including some of whom had worked at Thetford and some who had been supported by us for many years and who are now enjoying retirement. Also in attendance were the Thetford Motorcycle Club who had raised funds for OE's new training room at Harleston at their annual motorcycle show. Onward Enterprises were honoured to have received £1000 from the club. We offered our guests cream teas and refreshments including bucks fizz generously funded by one of our business partners, Antistat whilst we were serenaded by Lee Vasey. The local press were in attendance documenting what was a great day. Thank you everyone who attended in making it such a success. Harleston also raised a glass and a cupcake to wish Thetford happy birthday and all received a commemorative sports bag in OE orange of course.
On Saturday 16th September Onward Enterprises was visited by a large number of local bikers from the Anglo American Bikers and the Bell Bingo Buddies. We were one stop of the groups nominated by members of the charity run who were riding around the Breckland area. Onward Enterprises staff and service users provided refreshments to the 30 plus bikers on their charity run. Onward Enterprises, nominated by Julies Rolls received a cheque from the charity run on the day in front of bikers, people who are supported by OE and local press for the amount of £550. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the bikers and those who donated to them for their efforts. The monies will go some way to support the improvement of training facilities across both our sites.
Opening Doors at Onward Enterprises CIC
Members of the Opening Doors Self Advocacy organisation visited Onward Enterprises Thetford on the 27th October. Opening Doors are asking people what is important to them and their lives and feeding this back to social services locality teams to ensure people with learning difficulties have their voices heard when it comes to what services are being offered.
